Friday Foto, etc.

Good Friday morning to all! Man, I am so glad it is Friday. I know I only posted twice this week, but didn't we sure have some comments? I think that might have been a record. I appreciate everybody's participation. That is what this is all about. We have a forum here to hear one another's opinions It's a good way to learn other's views. I know my ideals, morals and ethics differ from other people. What better way to understand why I believe in something, and to strengthen it than hearing the opinions of others? I think all growth needs to go through this.

So the picture above was taken on Sapelo Island. They have a lighthouse on the island, but it used to be in a different spot. This photo is of the broken-down dock that was used for the lighthouse keeper to access the lighthouse. It was taken at about 4:45, hence the high contrast. What do you think?

So, any girls looking for a new man? I got one for you. He's buff, and I definitely like him as Mr. 2000 in the bottom right hand corner. Ken must have been influenced by the boy bands of the late 90's. Yikes.

Anybody have any big plans for this weekend? Not me... just some more work tossed with a little relaxation. Not that I care, but has anybody noticed the lack of activity over at islanddrama.com? Maybe the guy got kicked, or maybe he found Jesus. No skin off my back, it's a tasteless site anyway.

So, who has heard of and/or like Death Cab for Cutie (it's a band)? I really like them. Check it out, download/buy "Soul Meets Body", that's their latest hit. Really tasty stuff. Check ya later!

Kelly, dont say you have no true friends. If we werent your friends, we wouldn't make fun of you.... its all out of love :)

Death Cab for Cuties is Seth's (the OC) favorite band... anyone who watches that show should have heard of them. They aren't too bad.

I dont know that this picture is my favorite of yours. Its not bad, its just not my favorite.... Sorry :)

finally . . . Death Cab is getting some respect from people who don't watch O.C. If you like Death Cab, I'd also recommend The Postal Service. It's a bit different from Death Cab (as well just about anything else you might hear) but it's the same lead singer. It took me a while to really get into, but it was worth the effort.

There was another Death Cab reference last night on the OC, anyone catch it? The Postal Service does the remake of the Such Great Heights song, right? That was on Grey's Anatomy promos... all great non-mainstream music is now selling out to ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox... excellent smithers.
Anywho, I actually work for a living so I have not been able to start a fight with all you Duke peeps... not really worried about it because if anything the last 3 games have shown Duke is an inherently flawed team and has no shot at winning the big dance. Here's a assignment since apparently yall have too much free time on your hands... Find me another regular season game in NCAA history where the ranked home team had approximately 40 fouls called against them, just curious. Robbie, bet still stands at $200... you in?
Ben, I'm not even going to start on your last post because I have to go back to work now, I guess in the essence of time we will have to agree to vehemently disagree.

Who cares about Duke? This is a boring conversation.

Ange, I understand your frustration and all. Yes, I agree that Duke is a flawed team, but who isnt in colllege basketball. They went on the road and beat 2 top 20 teams, 1 of which is their biggest rival. All the while with 3 of their top 6 players as freshman or sophomores. Granted the game vs FSU was not good, but could they not have been overlooking the game in anticipation of the UNC game, arguably the biggest game of their year.

On your 40 fouls, that is a little excessive. BC had 27 fouls called against them to Duke's 19. 5 of those fouls, which resulted in 10 FT were in the last minute of the game. That brings the total to 22-19. That isnt a big discrepancy.

How about Hansgod playing center and banging didnt pick up his 1st foul until 10 minutes in the 2ND HALF. Can you honestly say that he didnt commit a foul in roughly 25 minutes of rough basketball against their most hated rival? The refs were so scared to call anything against UNC it was almost sickening, yet Duke was able to overcome it b/c J.J. Redick is the best college basketball player, maybe in the last 10 years.

By the way against Wake Forest the other night, BC shot 50 FT to Wake's 13. The game was played in Winston-Salem.

We dont work? Granted it isnt at the level of what you do, but I actually do have a somewhat important job. The only reason I can respond to this is b/c we are moving offices right now.

death cab for cutie has been flying under the radar for a long time... great music, but people are worried that all this recent attention will cause them to change their sound, ie. "sell-out".... some people even compare them to R.E.M. in that once R.E.M. really got national exposure their "southern college-rock" genre, which they invented, got diluted and has never really returned

The Postal Service did do Such Great Heights but, so far as I know, theirs is the original and the Iron & Wine (another talented but overlooked band) version is the re-make.

Yea, kel, bonefish isnt that good.... why do you get so excited everytime you go?

And, ange, ouch! i work. I am sorry that i sit in front a computer typing all day and i have the little internet button begging to be clicked every once in a while. What can i say, i have a slight case of ADD i guess...

On a different note, i did see the OC last night- it was a good one. I cant believe we have to wait til the stupid olympics are over to watch another episode. Who watches the winter olympics anyways? they suck!

I like the figure skating.

Bonefish is WAY better than the GA Sea Grill. HA! I'm going to Chelsea's for V-day!!!!

Bonefish is not WAY better than Ga Sea Grill.

Why spend your money on V-day? It is so overrated. I hate that hallmark made holiday. Everything goes up like 20x just because some man decided that that was the day you need to show someone you love them. If you really want to celebrate because you are just that into mainstream america, why not celebrate it on the 13th or the 15th? you can still say 'i love you' and you dont have to pay out of your ass hole for a dozen roses and a dinner. Thats my opinion on it, though.... :)

Anonymous said...

well Bum or Goat, Goat, yes, that's you...I actually agree with you, but Ben is a sucker for the holidays....

he knows kelly will kick his ass if he says he doesnt want to do anything for valentine's day.

i must agree that valentine's day is pretty stupid. damn i wish i owned hallmark.
