HA! Eat it Sony!
So has anybody heard what Sony did awhile back? I'll break it up into laymen's terms for ya. They sold CD's with a technology called XCP that basically installed itself (without asking) onto your computer if you tried to copy or download the CD. Once you buy the CD, I feel you own the rights to it. A lot of people out there buy CD's for collectibles, make copies to listen to, and archive the actual original. Sony got a lot of heat from this, rightfully so, and has backed down now. They are now offering anyone who purchased one of the estimated 2 million XCP CD's a regular CD in return for the other. That's gotta hurt Sony just a little. Serves them (and the RIAA) right for trying to mess with our music rights! Booyah!
